Cocktails need not be fussy or hard to make!

We strongly believe in the art of the cocktail.  Whether entertaining guests at home or enjoying a cocktail on your own, the cocktail hour should reflect your style and be easy and enjoyable for everyone, including you.  Simply put, cocktails at home should not be complicated.

For the last 6 years, we’ve been preaching the “Rules of 3”.  Around the turn of the 20th Century, when craft cocktails were in their Golden Age, cocktails followed three general rules:  they involved no more than 3 ingredients, contained no more than 3 ounces and were meant to be sipped in 3 sips (ensuring that drinks never got warm).  The “Rules of 3” also extended to the types of glassware being produced in the early part of the 20th Century, of which we specialize.

We are frequently asked, “what do you serve in this glass?”  Because of this, we decided to start the 2014 holiday season by helping all of you interested in entertaining at home.   We’ve created a series of short tutorials on how to make classic 3 ingredient drinks, perfect for holiday cheer.  We’ll show you the tools you need to have on hand, the ingredients you need to make the cocktails and give you a fun fact or two along the way for you to share with your guests.

Following in Bernard DeVoto’s belief that the Martini is truly one of America’s best inventions, we’re delighted to present to you our first video: “How to Make a Martini”.  Of course, we couldn’t resist making this classic drink with our vintage glassware and barware.  We hope you enjoy the video and see how easy it is to make stylish drinks at home.  Maybe it will even get you thinking about making a Martini during your next cocktail hour.  And we hope you’ll look forward to more of our “How to Make a Cocktail” video productions.  Cheers!
